Symptoms
- The player works in BluOS, and other services like radio play fine.
- Spotify doesn't list the player in its devices list, on the iPad or anywhere else.
Checked and ruled out (none of these fixed it)
- The iPad has both BluOS and Spotify. BluOS sees the player, so they're on the same network.
- Local Network permission for Spotify was already on.
- The account is Spotify Premium, which Spotify Connect requires.
- Deleting and reinstalling Spotify on the iPad didn't help.
Fix
- Power-cycle the Bluesound player. Unplug the power cable only (leave Ethernet plugged in), wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
- Wait 1 to 2 minutes until it shows up in BluOS again.
- Fully close and reopen Spotify, play a song and open the devices list. The player showed up again.
If the restart doesn't work
Check whether the WiFi is stopping devices from finding each other. BluOS can still work while Spotify can't, because the other services stream from inside BluOS while Spotify has to find the player on the local network. Send it to Shawn or the site's IT.
